Pitching Settings Help Please

Pitching Settings Help Please

Postby mikemartinfl » Tue Feb 14, 2006 9:28 am

Have three big starters and a lousy bullpen; needless to say want the starters to pitch as long as possible. Have all three on slow hook and the manager settings for relievers on conservative. What else can be done? What is optimal?

Cause it seems cpu, just disregards what I put in.

2-2 game in the 6th, Hal lifts 3FingerBrown for a PH (Maybe in the 8th, 9th, but not here.) Larry Anderson comes in to close out (gasp!) and the rest is history.

Help would be appreciated.

Hal (cpu) pretty much does what he wants . It sounds like you have the settings correct to get the SP to stay in longer . When 3F was pulled for the PH , was it a situation that you needed the hit for a run possibility ? Usually in games with the big stud pitchers a run or 2 is all one needs to win , generally .

At the time you had a man on 2nd with one out and the pitcher coming up in a 2-2 tie . Actually Hal pinch hitting is not that bad of an idea at this point . It just didn't work out this time . Anderson sucks. I his card looks good but for reason he always does bad for me and looks like for you too .

*** TOP OF INNING 7 ***
0 G.Carter 2 Fly Out b-0
1 B.Weaver 4 Double b-2
SUBSTITUTE P - Ron Perranoski
SUBSTITUTE PH- Andy Pafko
1 2 A.Pafko 6 Strike Out b-0
SUBSTITUTE PH- Bill Abstein
2 2 B.Abstein 0 Int Walk b-1
2 12 W.Wilson 3 Fly Out b-0

You were also at Candlestick where runs don't come easy sometimes .
