Franchise theme where ALL teams have a chance

Our historical single season sets

1. Aparicio
2. Agee

Despite having Petrocelli already at SS, my BoSox could use Aparicio as a leadoff hitter. If I get him, dare I use Rico Petro at 3B with a rating of 3B-2e65?? Or as the DH?

I could lose out on Allen and Agee! They would be tough to replace. I need Allen's monster bat and Agee's range and arm and HR bat in Wrigley!

SOM Gods be good to me, please?

For the A's 4 picks, I had McLain, Seaver, Cleon Jones (not sure what I was smoking putting him 3rd  ), and Thurman Munson...

Hope I get one or two of the other three since I obviously did not come close to Cleon.

Feeling pretty good so far...

1. McAuliffe
2. Staub
3. Aparicio (out)
4. Fregosi
5. Johnson
6. Belanger

Was making sure I got a 2b and SS!!

Will still need a 3B and C, and either a RF or DH.

OK, I'll end the suspense. I know you've all been holding your breath for these. The Twins used their 2 free agent picks on Ed Spezio and Gary Ross.

Think I went for Tatum and Aprachio. Not sure which order. Maybe I should have gone for Fergosi.

The Gunners with limited resources and many other obstacles.

Would love to have had a middle infielder ...Was unlikely that Luis would
have been available

Wilhelm ...Hopefully a slightly above Bully will help support the rags that are starting.

Kirkpatrick ...for numerous reasons starting with Clemente going to miss 40 games due to injury.

I'll be sitting on the sidelines during the waivers

Good Luck to everyone...Love the format!!!

The lonely world it is for the SF franchise. Pick 2 FA's and get them both and the night is over. Well, everyone and their mother picking the A's brings SF to ask the question, did I mess up. Knowing Aparicio would be on a lot of #1 lists I chose to go Belanger as a #2 having Lanier as a useable SS backup while enabling me to get Mclain which fill out my SP rotation.

I could have gone Aparicio but I would have gambled getting a SP at the $6M level.

Looks like Marichal, McLain, Perry, McCormick with Linzy as an ironman RP.

Bonds RF
Belanger SS
Mays CF
McCovey 1B
Dietz C
Henderson LF
Burda DH or Hart
Davenport 3B
Hunt 2b

Candelstick Park

Scouting report - Great SP and a couple of studs in the lineup with defense and a Pitching park.

The A's managed to pick up Tom Seaver and Thurman Munson while missing out on Denny McLain--snagged by the rival Giants--and Cleon Jones.

Consolation prizes were Gary Gentry and Mike Hegan, which is not a bad start...but we'll be fishing on the waiver wire for a LF with a better glove since I'm planning to DH Campaneris and play Kubiak.

Gentry and Hegan are available of anyone has a hankering for them...
