* Everybody else just has to pull their weight.

My tour team, round 4

I decided to give Hanley a shot. I knew I needed a 1 @ 2b (Phillips) and in CF (Beltran) to help out the D.

If Beltran would have pulled his weight, and if I could have been a bit more successful in my division, I "could" have advanced.

Check out the team ERA AND WHIP in Dodger Stadium with Hanley @ SS.

Yeah, Beltran really stunk. Phillips is totally overrated, but if you really want his great D, then I guess I understand. However, Markakis is also a total ripoff, so I think you could have a gotten decent 2B and RF for a quite a bit less, and spent more money somewhere else.

I'm down 3 games to 1 right now in the finals, but HanRam and his atrocious D and amazing bat have been leading the way.

The one thing both of our teams have in common, though, is that we just barely limped across the finish line with winning records, meaning that while winning with HanRam in the infield is possible, it's really not a great situation. He's probably the best option, for his price, at DH, but SS is a different story.

I don't think your ballpark helped the situation to benefit from Beltran and Hanley's O.

Probably not.

But I was expecting at least a .250 avg. out of Beltran. I think that could have been enough to make this work.

Yeah, as you saw, Dunn and Cust both had great years. Basically outscored most teams (933 runs) gave up a ton though too (866). Team I lost in the first round was 94-68 in the reg season. Better pitching shut me down 3-0.

92 Wins with HanRam at SS

He was #1 in OPS. League was somewhat pitching park heavy.

edub,
I think that was a nice team. You had good pitching. Tim Hudson(in my experience) is worth every penny. And you got good production out of Todd Helton. I am glad to see that,.. because I am about to use him for the first time this year. I am in Royals and I hope he performs like he did for you.

One more thing, a 92 game winning team is a better indication of how good you were, rather than losing in the playoffs. In a short series there is much more room for luck. Oh and Josh Bard is a BEAST against lefties. I have finally gotten around to having him on one of my 2008 teams.

So all you can win is 92 games...

With hanram at short? :)

Very cool seasons to the both of you.

Edub- Budget R.Davis scored 90 runs with a under 300 ba,obp, and slug (Nick Punto is smiling somewhere). thats quite a statement to how awesome your offense was.

Jerry- Thats far and away the best season I've seen out of Beltran. I've used him quite a few times (twice in Citizens) and I don't think he likes me as he likes you!
