Yes, JP, the players selected in rounds one and five are protected and off-limits to everyone else for pickup, and can be treated in any way you choose -- whether drafting, adding, dropping, trading or ignoring altogether.

As for the other rounds, the entire pool of players eligible for your franchise are yours to choose, whether carded to your team or not.

Clarification about "protected" players draft

We can declare our two players for round one now, right?

We cannot declare our two players of round 5 yet, because they might be stolen in rounds 2,3,4...right?

Yes, Marge. It's perfectly acceptable to declare round-one protected players now. And as you've correctly expressed, we'll have to wait on the later round protecteds because some weasel (all due respects, guys) might swipe them.

The way my teams have been going, though, I don't think I have anything to be worried about, at least where my roster is concerned. :lol: :twisted: :lol:
