Sorry for missing your previous question, AeroDave. As I related in a PM, it was definitely unintentional. He wanted clarification regarding trades. Here's my concept for the new season:

If you own a player, whether franchised to your team or not, you can trade him to any other team that's able to use him. If he is one of your franchise guys, the franchise tag will no longer apply to him once he moves and he can be dealt again if the new owner wishes.

There have been previous comments yearning for more trade action. This should bring it about.

I want to make something straight before I pick my two protected players. Whoever I pick I have the rights to unless he's traded away, correct?

If I protect someone, and don't end up using him on my roster, no one else can pick him up, correct?

PJ: Absolutely correct. If you choose, you don't have to draft or pick up the player, and no one else can touch him. Only you have the ability to breathe life into him. But once you trade him away, he's gone.

Besides draft if I understand rules right I would have exclusive rights to players like Staub Colbert and Howard Never played for anyone but expansion teams and the Tigers except Howard -Dodgers but they are not in this 12 team league Am I correct in this assumption?
