Stupid HAL move helps lose a wildcard spot

gorshar, I'm not sure you are understanding my point here. If you had your player settings set correctly (don't PH for my backup catcher) then you most likely would not have been in this situation. Use your settings to the best of your advantage and it will pay off in the long run. Don't expect HAL to always make the right call. HAL is not a human, he is a computer trying to follow your instructions. Computers are dumb and are only as good as the instructions they are given to operate with.

If HAL always made the right decisions without considering your directives then that would make this game more of a sit back and watch game rather than a hands on game where the manager who makes daily adjustments based on each upcoming series having a real advantage.

Amen Bombers... I am not trying to be critical of our unhappy co-manager. I am one that believes that HAL does pretty well given the complexity of AI management. Of course he wont manage like me. I miss the days of face to face play I had with a group of friends in college. That was heaven.

I agree, check the "do not pinch hit for" boxes if you don't want this to happen...

But it still may happen, with a pinch RUNNER. That's something (as far as I know) you can't stop happening, even if the player being replaced is a relatively good runner, and it can be quite annoying.

Good luck.
