[quote:c2d39c06f6]Alright, Jablow --- I've been convinced. I feel like I've missed out on the greatest opportunity in the 80's ... to have my backside waxed by Panzer Ace.[/quote:c2d39c06f6]

That's not even right.

You were going to get your backside waxed this afternoon [i:c2d39c06f6]anyways[/i:c2d39c06f6] by Kwon Li over at the Asian Spa on 78th and Halsey in "Bah-Stin."

Right after your pedicure, am I right? :P

(I couldn't resist.)

{P.S. Your team is going down like a busload of clowns in this league.}

Blitzkrieg to fun

Postby Panzer ace » Sat Feb 18, 2006 12:57 pm

Well I dont know how I will do in this all-star league, but judging by the posts, it will be the most fun I have had.
I find Penn's fixation with my winning Pct interesting, because I dont even look at it. Winning Pct is just a by product of trying to put together a competitive team and match up well in the playoffs. If I worried about my winning Pct I wouldnt sit all my regulars the last week of a league when I have clinched my division. I have been lucky to have some big leads and be able to sit guys in quite a few leagues. I guess I may have cost myself some wins doing that.
Outta and Abner got me thinking about my good fortune in the playoffs. So here it is
15-2 in semi-finals
12-3 in finals
overall playoff record 99-52
I will leave it to Penn to calculate the winning pct.

(cough, ack, ack$%#@$) oh sorry, just got another visual of a backside waxing mixed with a bus load of clowns...not a pretty sight....back to the porcelain alter.

BJ, you are a sick man. How would a guy who finds plaid flannel and tube socks on a woman know the first thing about an Asian spa?

Panzer, having never been in a league with you, what's your secret? I know I've read many of your posts offering help to newbies. You don't hesitate to pull the trigger in dropping a player if necessary. You don't always have stellar defense. What's the key? What parks do you typically try to play in? Are you a "slug your way to victory" kind of manager, or does "defense, speed and pitching" carry you?

Speaking of going down like a busload of clowns, Outta Leftfield, I think you paid someone to whack Jim Rice and Oddibe McDowell in my last series with my 1986 Bosox in your Catskill Cats 3 league. For a team that started out 5-13, and didnt' get above .500 until game 90, I thought I was doing well, and was ecstatic to make the playoffs. Oddibe played stellar CF for me, and batted .300 with a .500 SLG, and he's out for the entire semi-final series against you ... something smells fishy here !!! You should be easy on me --- this is my first playoff team in quite some time. It's not exactly Panzer Ace you're dealing with here

I did find it interesting that 4 teams in our league finished with less than 100 errors for the season. You had a league low 88. Very impressive !! Good luck.

OK, YountFan, we need one more to fill this league ---- step up and fill it. You can do it --- if I can make time, so can you. Just put your recording career on hold for a couple months, and jump in !!!

With my 1600 or so wins and .533 winning % I don't qualify for this league, but I'll take the last spot if you'll lower your standards to take me.

Great group - this should be fun..........

Does anyone buy that we are lowering standards by letting Great Unwashed in? I seem to remember that when I played with him, he won the division over me. This looks like a very imposing group. 8)

I'm not so sure. I feel like we are a bunch of Shermans up against a King Tiger. I've got my Pershing with the 90mm gun on order, but I'm not sure whether it will arrive in time.

And to keep up the WWII metaphor, when sean writes

I'm going answer, with Sgt Shultz, about Oddibe: "I know nussing...I know nussing...." Anyway, sean, you made a great run to make the playoffs and I've learned to go in fear of wildcard teams, especially ones that score 100 more runs than my team did. :D Should be a great playoffs.
