Division has another Forbes, Griffith, and Briggs (5 LH SP, 7 RH SP; 8 LH and 16 RH hitters)

Rest of the League has Municipal, 2 Dodgers, DUnn, Baker, Wrigley, Crosley, Fenway 46 (12 LH SP, 21 RH SP; 24 LH and 40 RH hitters)

I think in keeping with the concept (low priced sp's with bphrs, deep pen) you are working with, and with another griff and a forbes, that this team looks real good! Nothing I would change.

Nice job!

would it be better to trade in Boggs, for Kinght and walling platoon?
that would give me sanguillen, Clemente and Knight for protection against tough lefties

The only thing I would consider changing is Pesky. You've got 4 other LH bats in the lineup and I'd rather see a "1" at SS with a smallball team. Actually, any team with Mantle should be RH hitter heavy so that teams have to decide to get pounded by Mantle or pounded by everyone else.

Boggs will do fine for you, when I use him on smallball teams, he usually hits .300 - .330 with an OBP between .400 - 430.

You've got an interesting staff, I'll be curious to see how they do, but I think you'll be fine.

If you downgraded Pesky to a Chapman, Peckinpaugh, Aparicio type, you'd have a couple extra bucks to upgrade your pen too.

Just checked, Peckinpaugh, Fernandez & Concepcion are your choices. Or a trade of Pesky.

This is a very interesting approach to Forbes, in my opinion. I fancy myself a knowledgeable Forbes player and I do not think I would have thought of putting together a team with 4 value SP for that park. It will be interesting to see what your splits will be home and away.
As for your question, I would go ahead and keep Boggs. I've only used him once and he did well.
Your era will be higher than a normal Forbes team, but your hitting will be better. Normally I try to win 3-1 in Forbes but you will be looking to win 5-4. If you can win those games you will have a good season.

A similar approach with a 5 man rotation:

Boss,

I do that regularly, sometimes with good results, here's a similar team that finished 2nd in the league in pitching and won 90 games:

Coach,

The first thing that jumped out at me was that you had 1's at every position. The SP's are similar, so it will be interesting to see how much all "1's" affect the runs allowed.

I had just drafted Kaat, Boyd, Wilson, and Grant, and got all 4.
Figured I need 2 or 3 of them to save money, kept Kaat and Boyd, got Camnitz and Koufax after getting words of wisdom here. :D
Or I chickened out on going with all 4
