Veteran Help Needed -- Hitters under 3M?

Postby mridge01 » Mon Feb 20, 2006 12:13 pm

I'm certainly not the expert in this league. (Out of 3 teams, none have made the playoffs.) But I can say the Dennis Bennet is really strong against lefties. The problem I had with him is that HAL kept letting him face righties and he got lit up pretty good. I made the necessary settings, i.e. quick hook, avoid righties, but HAL wanted him to face righties. So if you're expecting him to do well vs. righties, forget about it. But a closer vs. lefties or even a setup man, he might do okay.

I would definitely recommend Bennett as a set-up man in a pitcher's park. He will shut down left-handed bats.
I would want both Steinfeldt and Trammell in a pitcher's park. Trammell is the best of the expensive SS in a pitcher's park. Rosen does okay in hitter's parks only. I would consider dropping him altogether.

Bye,Bye Birdie?

Tebbetts is just not getting it done for my team. The team is posted in an earlier response.

Do any of the veterans out there like a particular C for 1.4M or under?
I have narrowed the field to Dempsey, Whitt, or Grote.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

I've used Dempsey 3 times with some success on pitching dominated teams.
