older 20XX games only $12.50 for a team

I wonder now that TSN is putting all the new games in the ATG game module if the 2007 game, and every new 200X game from here on out, will ever be reduced in price? I don't see how they can do it. You purchase a credit for the full price game module and then select what game you want to play. I don't know how they could diferentiate the older 20XX games from ATG or any of the others.

I sent an e-mail to Strato support a while back asking when the 2006 game was going to be discounted. They replyed back saying that it probably would not go down in price because they are putting everything in one group.

I think they intend to charge $25 for the old games. Which is too bad because I would have played last years game for the lower rate.

I don't know why they would put every game in the same group. It doesn't make sense. I can see charging the same price for the current game and ATG scenarios, because current is, well, current, and ATG is the best cards from several decades.

Charging $12.50 allows people who might not have $25 to blow on one season to still play, even if it is with a set a couple of years old. I know that when hours pick up at work, I intend to buy a five pack of the regular game, and wouldn't have minded playing an additional couple of seasons with sets from 2-3 years ago.

My guess would be that each of the original 20XX seasons ran on their own individual platforms, which is why they still don't have the features of the newer ones.

At some point, they realized that it made much more sense to have an engine running the game, and the cards as a module which can be swapped out. From a programming standpoint, it makes much more sense and will make future games easier to update, and they can add any set of cards easily.

Unfortunately, it would give them no real reason to discount any more games as the 2007 set would be able to incorporate any updates they come up with in the future.

I'm not certain that this is the case, but it seems a likely scenario.

If they don't intend to discount it, then they should give it all the new features such as displaying dice rolls.
