When your pitcher bats

Wouldn't it be nice to have another option on the pitchers card stategy on how often and in what situation you want him to sacrifice vs hitting away, while batting. Sometimes I have noticed especially with the real good hitting pitcher ie. Tiant---Hal will have him bunt when I would have let him hit. Just think it would be a nice extra option to add a little control of how you want your pitcher to hit and or what situation you want him to be pulled for a pinch hitter. Don't know alot about computers so therefore I have no idea how hard it would be to add those options but it sure would be cool--IMO. Anyone have any thoughts about this??

I've been trying to confirm that 1969 uses specific hitting cards for pitchers. Is this the case? Others have said Strat online doesn't, but maybe they're talking about ATG II.

So what's the deal with Tiant? You think he bunts too much? I assume you've backed off on your bunt settings for your team, then specified whch players you want to "bunt more" on the cards.

edit: You're in my division for the upcoming league. Should be fun, unless my team sucks. 8)

Thanks BC---I am looking forward to it also. To answer your questions. There are no individual hitting stratigies for your pitchers. All you have on pitchers cards are your pitching options. There are no settings on how you want him to hit/bunt etc. The manager strategy section is where you can make a change to your bunting preferences. That was what I meant in the message--I would like to see individual hitting section on each pitchers card. The example of Tiant is what I mean. I have seen HAL have him bunt in situations where he should have hit away. That decision is totally out of our control now--it is all in HAL wants to do it. There are those who will say change your bunt settins in the manager strategy to conservitive---but that affects the WHOLE team. Hope that is understandable. Tiant/Brunet and a few other are Really good hitters and can make an impact with their hitting ability and I would like the option of how to use them more effectively than HAL does. Looking forward to our new league. I am in the finals in one league right now but have never won a championship.

Unless...it's true what some are saying. That the game engine is using only one card for all pitchers.
