How do you pick the year that you want someone to play?

You don't. It's random.

Part of the challenge and fun of a mystery card league is figuring out which card you have. On one hand, there is a lot of luck. On the other, it can be very satisfying to overcome some initial bad luck by making key roster adjustments that turn your team around.

Thank you so much..."that's another fine mess that I've gotten myself into" :D I guess then I should stand pat with my $82M :D roster pre-waivers...until I get some inkling on who's performing or not. I really liked it that HAl felt that I deserved anothe $2M.

LA Bear,
If you look closely you will see a small - sign. Hal is not giving you $1.96 MILL. You have to cut $1.96 Mill to make your roster legal.

Good luck. Mystery card games are a lot of fun but really hard to fill.

Not true. mystery leagues fill quickly and no you do not need to get under 80M in team salary. Sometimes you are awarded players that make your total salary higher than 80M. If you do not trade or add players you can play all season long with your current roster of 82M. However it is very unlikely that you will be happy with all the players you start a season with.

LMBombers, Thank's for setting me straight. I didn't know the salary cap could be exceded. Also looking back on it, the last time I tried to play a mystery card game was probably when everyone was playing the 86 game for free.

Everythings fine now. I couldn't resist getting Kong in a division with 2 other launching pads plus the bandbox that we will call home. It's my first time with this mystery card thing, so I'm sure that I'll get an old fashion whooping.

If any grand masters have any suggestions on how to improve the Mula Mulas, I'm all ears.

Might be better off with a RH closer in a HR park. There is a lack of depth in LH hitting and a lot of RH hitting. Darrell Porter needs a platoon in all except one year. Buck Martinez had two real good years vs LH for < $1.00. IF defense a little weak, but hey, it's the 70's game. Looks good on paper to start, anyway.
