1969 LIVE DRAFT SIGN-UP - FULL!

Postby GFDWARF07 » Thu Feb 05, 2009 12:33 pm

Sign-up here for a 1969 live draft via the SOMDRAFT.COM site. Draft will be 20 rounds (19 players and a stadium). We will set-up the somdraft.com draft once we get a full 12 team list. After you draft your 20 players, we will form a league and you autodraft via TSN those 19 players you drafted and select the stadium you drafted. Then we autodraft for the final six roster spots, then frenzy for any final adjustments.

DH = No, just like real 1969, unless a majority votes to change this

Draft order and division assignments will be randomized after we get 12 owners committed.

Salary cap will be placed at $200MM (essentially no cap).

For anyone that has not used SOMDRAFT.COM, it's a very fun way to draft - draft usually takes a few days and each owner has some time to make picks. You have to set-up a user name and password for the site, but it's free (though donations are welcome). For those who sign-up, please remember to check on this site frequently during the draft to assure we can move it along as fast as reasonably possible. But it is not like the TSN live draft, where picks are made every few minutes - basically we move at our own pace. :P

Draft Order and Division Assignments Methodology

Postby GFDWARF07 » Thu Feb 05, 2009 8:51 pm

Welcome Risden! I fear I am over my head in competition already!

Just to clarify on the randomizer run for the draft order, we will use the number from the sign-up as each owners' "ID" number and place them in the order of the randomizer run to determine draft order. i.e. if the first few numbers of the randomizer run start with 5 - 3- 7, then the team listed on the sign-up list as #5 drafts first, #3 drafts second, #7 third, etc.

[b:6a386671b6]Divisions[/b:6a386671b6] will be set by DRAFT position:

East: Teams with draft picks 1, 4, 7, 10

Central: Teams with draft picks 2, 5, 8, 11

West: Teams with draft picks 3, 6, 9, 12

I actually witnessed a controversy over this in another league so wanted to be clear.

Thanks!

And thanks again for taking the lead

I really appreciate it. Another question I have is I have the set from 1969 but the cards available on the site seem to be different. Is that correct?

Yes, you did it right - please keep an eye on this thread for when it fills up and then keep an eye on the draft site once the draft starts. Thanks!

As for the cards, not sure what the differences are there. Unless you are looking at a basic game card (three columns). TSN uses the advanced cards (split for left and right handed pitching/batting).

Anyway, welcome and please let your friend know to stay on top of the draft once it starts. I don't see any posts from him here.
