Joe D. in Griffith?

Joe D. in Griffith?

Postby Ruths ruffians » Sun Feb 26, 2006 4:31 pm

I can't post a link to my team from home on this Mac computer but anyway, thinking of trying Joe D. in Griffth and planning on usung Stan in LF and K.Hernandez at 1B. Had to deplete my pen to do so I would be relying on Beggs. Thoughts on Joe D. on this team in this park. Got a few solid backups for Honus and Joe D. but injuries could be key.

Thanks Munich Man. I agree that would hit anywhere. I think the team could do well if injuries don't kill me and the bullpen holds up.

I have a team starting tonite in Candlestick, and I am using Joe D. in CF for the first time in a pitchers park based on the advise of many here. But agree, he should hit ANYWHERE! Always fear the injury..but hopefully the rolls will be with us eh Dean?

Love Joe, but my most recent team with him in Dodger 65 shows the highs & lows:

146 582 100 188 21 4 42 123 58 43 0 0 .323 .589 .383

Team finished with 89 wins, missing the playoffs by a game. I gotta think those 16 games without him were key. I know I went 1-4 down the stretch for one of those injuries.

Yes, injury is always a risk..still a pretty nice year!

The other thing is....how many games did he WIN for you in the 146 he appeared in as opposed to having someone else? Would another player had been as productive? Of course, this is hard to determine, but i would venture to say his productivity in those 146 games would out do most players, don't you think? :)

Points well taken. When you finish a game out, you tend to grab at the loosest straw.

If I were opposing you, Dean, you'd see a steady stream of RHP.

That was only concern Randy that I am a little too right handed. My original thought was to pick up J.Morgan instead of Joe D. I also thought about Keller. If fact I was this close to picking up Morgan than thought Joe D. made more sense. Advantage of Joe would be Geronimo back in center and better D.

Thought that I would post a link to this Griffith theme team that has Joe D, Morgan and Mex; all players that you mentioned above.
