I'd like to get some feedback on a proposed theme... I'll be choosing the rules in season 11 and am looking at a theme that will have some rules that will be more "modern era" in a sense. One of the things I'd like to do is open up the expansion franchise players to be used for a change. What I'd like to do is allow everyone to pick up from 2-4 expansion players regardless of their affiliation to any franchise. Thee are the guys on SD, Sea, KCR, Tor, Mtl, Cal, Tex, Hou, NYM, and MLW. These guys are almost never used and would like to add just a spice of flavor to one season.

Taking this into consideration, there would be a major limitation on remaining franchise eligible players... the whole one AB or one IP would definitely not be used.

Thoughts?

I would be inclined not to use them since this is a "Franchise League". While not exactly the same, this is akin to using players who played with other franchises but not yours (e.g. The Giants using Ted Williams). Since I don't forsee this happening in any of the remaining events, I don't see why the expansion franchise players would be acceptable, either. That's my "thought" :?

I'd have to agree with Dave, Novie. I saw the light when it was my turn to set the rules.

I created a minor uproar when I put forth an option that you could trade your carded player for any other player from any other team in the SOM universe. If we couldn't go there, I'd bet we can't go your way, either.

No problem.... was just looking for a way to freshen things up a little and thought I'd throw that out there.

But not too worry, I've got a couple tricks up my sleeve that may give this season a different feel... without it being a huge amount of work tho.

I'm in the Central and the West can now load. Sorry for the delay, but I spent the last two days in meetings with a client's new CEO and CFO.

I was going through all the info for pitchers who've played for the A's and it's very very weak. Does anyone else agree?
