Prizes?

Postby GFDWARF07 » Tue Feb 24, 2009 8:25 am

So the only prizes so far are:

The Golden Twinkie - Worst run differential

And Jett's generous offering of $1 for stuff that's not going to happen.

I guess nobody else is in the spirit. RJ - it was your idea?

Is there any reason why we haven't filled out this league yet?

I will send a bottle of wine that would

cost between 200-300 bucks to any body whom finishes with a .620 winning percentage or higher. I was hoping Franky or Risden would have made me and gordie a sidebet along the lines of " I will bet you guys finish 15 or more games out of first as a rookie"....

The biggest part of the learning curve in this game is knowing the bargain players and fitting as many stars under the salary cap as possible. This is where the game veterans play the simulation well after repeated efforts. Veterans have learned to play the game, not necessarily the players.

Since there is (essentially) no salary cap, that advantage normally owned by the veterans has been eliminated and/or substantially been reduced.

I was impressed by the draft picks of the rookies in this league; I predict nobody finishes with better than 98 wins (.605) or worse than 70 wins (.432) and that at least 3 non-division winners will finish within 3 games of the wild card berth.

I need to find some type of gift to send out - I'm not sure that I have anything of value to give away...
