Team advice for 1st time ATG player

Team advice for 1st time ATG player

Postby terpfan61764 » Tue Feb 28, 2006 12:13 am

I decided to give ATG a try because it sounded really interesting. Haven't been at SOM very long so I'm still learning as I go.

Any advice on this team playing in Memorial Stadium '70 would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks...

In general, you should only keep 13 hitters and your backups should be mostly .50 guys.

I've never played Memorial so I don't have much advice beyond that. There are plenty of helpful people on the boards and the most helpful thing would be for them to post successful Memorial teams.

Never used Memorial either, but I'd say Parrish OK at C, but platoon him with someone like Milt May. Can't say Garvey ever gets used much. I'd definitely look for better at first. I think there's a few guys here who have used Memorial regularly and will help you immensely. Good luck.

Memorial is weighted towards lefty hitting singles. Therefore, having both Hooton & Gibson as weighted against righties would seem to be a recipe for disaster. In ATG2 I strongly prefer Hooton with a number of strong performances where Gibson quite ofter has been shelled.

Get yourself an ace SP, preferably LSP. If Stieb, Lemon as righties are around and nobody in the upper 7's are available go with them.

Get 1 RP in the 3M to 3.75 M salary range.

With Mantle you appear to have to much hitting vs righties. You are vulnerable against lefty aces. Your righty hitters are strong against righties.

1B & 3B are holes here. Both players are ok in $60M cap leagues but more punch against LSP is required.

Del Ennis for Tony Gwynn.

Chapman for Ripken.

Steinfeld for Pendleton.

If you can get them.
