effect of holding runner?

Felix Millan is a "1" rated fielder, but a 2B(x) to Millan resulted in a hit. Here is the play:

*** BOTTOM OF INNING 12 ***
0 A.Oliver 5 Single (CF) b-1
0 1 B.Mazeroski 2 Ground Out (SS) Double Play 1-o b-0
2 J.Cardenal 4 Double (LF) b-2
2 2 F.Patek 3 Single (2B) 2-3 b-1 gb(2B)x
2 1 3 R.Hebner 5 Line Out (3B) b-0

Did this happen because Millan was holding the runner at 2B, and as a result he became a "2" fielder?

BTW, my pitcher was Wilber Wood (lefty), so shouldn't the SS be holding the runner?

Makes no difference whether your pitcher was RH or LH, it is the hitter batting from right or left which determines who holds the runner...In this case, Cardenal is obviously being held by the 2b (Milan) because Patek is a RH batter...according to the super Advanced holding chart on a 20 sided die roll of 1-4 it is a single, if the runner on second is being held. Hope that helps.
