I thought I had a good team, how would you set this line-up of all stars? At Citizins Bank

For what it's worth having played only 20 teams your hitting looks good to me. I wouldn't worry after 30 games. I would look for some better relief pitchers if available that don't give up homeruns on their cards to back up Papelbon. I won one 200K league and the relief staff was crucial.

Good point, just curious how would some of you put these guys in your batting order? RHP vs LHP

Thanks

Not a fan of Cameron or Branyan but some really like Branyan. Need to upgrade CF defensively if possible against righties. Don't like 3s at 2nd or short either but probably nothing left for you. In a hitters park you must have pitching and defense to offset and homers are killing you so that's why relief to me is very important. Good luck.

[size=9:448fd0017e]*(this is overstated. See link below.)[/size:448fd0017e]

The problem with your team is not how you set your lineup. The problem with your team is who is [i:448fd0017e]in[/i:448fd0017e] your lineup.

I have zero experience with unlimited salary teams, so I'm not the one to ask here about draft strategy; however, there are so many better players to platoon than say Dye/Guerrero, even at the low salary end.

If you want to know more about lineup analysis and "team help" in general, try this:

It's from last season's statistics, but it's held up pretty well over the years.

GL!

[b:64a7565f47]askaufman[/b:64a7565f47]:

Your lineup [i:64a7565f47]vs. LHP[/i:64a7565f47] tested out at 5.667 RPG and [i:64a7565f47]vs. RHP[/i:64a7565f47] at 5.278 RPG. The total bases of Ross (vs. lefties) and Branyan (vs. righties) have too much impact on the bottom line to be sitting on the bench.

Having said that, this is a very inexact science, so when you consider ballpark effects, clutch and other intangibles (i.e., too many righty bats vs. RHP) none of this probably matters that much anyway!

Great ideas, you both really opened my eyes! I'm going to be using some of both of your ideas. Thanks for all your insights, great stuff guys, I feel like I just watched ESPN breaking down my strat-o team..............

Just some quick thoughts on your team.

One problem with this team is your D. Playing a 3 in CF, 2b and SS is brutal. That's not too mention your 4's in the OF on both corners.

Bartlett should be starting at SS v LHP.

Saunders isn't a particularly good fit for you park and neither is Marcum or E Ramirez.

You have good power, but your OB isn't all that high v RHP.

I see you have made some changes. In a 200k league your options are limited after draft time. Those relievers are an improvement but would have been nice to have some 4 or 5 mill types. Grudz is a good defense replacement. Jet hit it on the head about defense and your starters and OBP. No guarantees are allowed in strat but improving your defense will help out your pitchers.

I want to thank you both for your advise, the league I'm in is a 120 mil cap. I did make some changes and looked at the areas you both mentioned. There aren't much better RP left in the player pool, but as you said I made some defense pick-ups and I'm making some def. replacements later in the innings. I went 2-1 in my first three games since the changes and was able to keep the scoring down. I wanted to thank you both for taking the time and giving me some pointers.
