J-Pav, I have to admit that Im dumbfounded that you like saunders & marcum for his park, Especially marcum with his bp & natural hr's?

There are some who look at the cards and ignore singles and doubles on half the rolls and think [i:85c781c20e]"Aha![/i:85c781c20e] he's a brilliant hitter's park guy because he has no ballpark homers!" Sometimes you just try and have a slightly different perspective. I just see the BP homers here as a cost of doing business for an otherwise decent card. Plus, what can he upgrade to that's better?

Believe me, I understand the argument. I also understood the argument for never using a 3 at 2B, SS and CF. But when I did try 3s in the middle field positions (the right 3s), I began to win a lot more games. I think this is more of the same.

Now don't confuse me as saying I seek out high BP homer pitcher's for hitter's parks. I seek out good cards, and sometimes they have different flaws than other managers tolerate.

J-Pav,
I would never doubt your advice, and thanks for correcting me on the Theriot, Bartlett debate. Theriot DOES get on base a little more,.. even against LHP, but I guess I was thinking of the 20+ extra bases for Bartlett against lefties vs. Theriot. Now with Bartlett being the 2 at SS and Theriot being the 3, doesn't it make more sense to start Bartlett, just versus left handed pitching, or am I wrong about that?

I already have Bartlett batting fourth. Theriot is 9th (at DH). I think you had it right from the beginning - I figured you just said it wrong when you said Bartlett got on more than The Riot (you meant total bases).

Analyze this

Postby Brent65 » Sat Apr 04, 2009 8:26 am

I just wanted to thank you all for analyzing my team (line-up). I wanted to give you another update: I was going into the 9th inning up by 5 and lost with a walk off grand slam by Tori Hunter. As some of you have stated before, sometimes it's better to be lucky than good!

In my second game, I also lost in the bottom of the 9th with another walk off HR by Greg Dobbs:

I did win my third game:

Again, any suggestions or comments are greatful, this thread has been enlightening and enjoyable reading.............

Thanks again guys

Welcome to strat. You notice the rolls were on his players cards so nothing you could do about it. I've got guys in my league with a lot more experience already tearing their teams apart after 36 games.
