If we can get a new commish maybe we can get this thing going soon!

Teepack has told me that he will not be able to serve as Commish this year, so we'll be needing a new one this time around.

Mesquiton, I heard through the grapevine that you would make a great replacement. If you're interested in chatting with me about the role, please send an email to stratomatic@sportingnews.com with your number and a good time for me to call this week.

Thanks!

Hey Bernie (and "the grapevine"), thanks for the invite! I'm humbly honored, would love to do it if I had the time, but will have to say no, with regrets.

On the other hand, I know there are a lot of well-qualified, fair-minded folks in this community who could be great as Commish. Come on, guys, there must be somebody out there who has time to be a hero!

:D

What does being commissioner require? If no one person wants to do it, could we come up with a committee? I'd really like to see this thing happen...it was fun last year, despite my embarrassing performance.

Anything? Is the championship dead this year?

Some news one way or the other would be good to know. I've been holding the credits I have (and not purchasing more yet) so I can save them for the PC, but if it isn't going to happen, then I can move forward. The PC was a good way to experience different formats and have a steady diet of games over the course of a few months (it was a nice pace for me, about 1 per month). If others are like me (holding back the use of credits), then that may contribute to the lower interest level in some current leagues.

Yes. I am also reserving some credits for this league, but if it is not happening, then I would be more inclined to join other leagues.

As am I. I enjoyed it last year and am hoping we can all enjoy it again. Letting us know either way would be nice. If there is no one else I would be willing to help out to keep it running.

I'm in contact with a likely new commish and I expect to make at least a definite (if only informal) announcement tomorrow. Count on the tournament happening as soon as we can get it off the ground, though.
