Trade Feedback (URGENT)

Would you do this trade (2008 set)? I need to know quick!

[u:80b3c0eccb]I get[/u:80b3c0eccb]:

Ryan Howard
Jimmy Rollins
Mike Lowell

[u:80b3c0eccb]He gets[/u:80b3c0eccb]:

Kevin Youkilis
Michael Young
Casey Blake

My home ballpark is Minute Maid Field. I also have Justin Morneau to play 1B (so I can DH Howard) and Jorge Cantu to play (or platoon) at 3B.

I forgot to mention that we're about 50-ish games into the season and Youkilis hasn't come CLOSE to performing the way I would expect the # 2 rated hitter to perform. Howard hasn't done well either, but at least he has some HR (double what Youkilis has) to offset his SO.

Based on my league which just ended I would not make that trade. Young, Yuk and Blake are doing great. I have Youk and Blake on my team. Howard has done okay but Rollins has been a dud. Lowell was never drafted or picked up in our league.

Youk's stats in Minute Maid for me:

601 112 174 48 5 35 108 61 133 0 8 .290 364 .561

I had Cantu and he did great but dropped him and picked up Blake for the stretch run because of defense and is hitting .300 for me

I was entertaining it for the following reasons:

[b:7d4c5a23d9][u:7d4c5a23d9]1B[/u:7d4c5a23d9][/b:7d4c5a23d9]
Morneau is having a borderline MVP year for me and is average on DEF (3 rating). Youkilis hasn't hit for any power or average, but plays good DEF and is starting to draw walks here and there. Howard has 14 HR (50ish games into the season) which is twice as many as Youkilis. I wouldn't have to play Howard in the field, he would be my DH. I also have Jim Thome on the bench to use as a DH (haven't used him at all).

[b:7d4c5a23d9][u:7d4c5a23d9]SS[/u:7d4c5a23d9][/b:7d4c5a23d9]
Young doesn't even have .300 OBP and hasn't done anything offensively. Rollins has had a slightly better offensive year and plays better DEF/more SB.

[b:7d4c5a23d9][u:7d4c5a23d9]3B[/u:7d4c5a23d9][/b:7d4c5a23d9]
I don't use Blake at all, he was just a DEF replacement for Jorge Cantu. Lowell would be even better DEF with a better bat than Blake (and possible platoon with Cantu). Cantu is having a nice year offensively.

[b:7d4c5a23d9][u:7d4c5a23d9]SP[/u:7d4c5a23d9][/b:7d4c5a23d9]
My SP isn't that great, so I thought the DEF upgrade at SS and 3B may help my ERA.

50ish games into the 2008 season, this is what Youkilis has done for me

203 32 47 13 1 7 23 27 57 0 0 3 .232 .335 .409

My home park is Minute Maid.

askaufman, thanks for the info. I'm not sure if he got off to a slow start in your league too.

Does anyone else have experience with any of these players in the 2008 set?

I'll probably stop checking for advice around 6pm-ish (Pacific Time) today, I have to get back to him with a decision.

Your help is appreciated!

I think Rollins is generally considered one of the stinkers in the set.

I have to disagree with most of the other posters on this. I think Michael Young is way over priced in this set(and I love the guy most years and in real life). I would rather have Rollins. Lowell is also way better than Blake, but a bit of an injury risk. And although Youk is great, I think he is over priced. I realize my three cents might be too late, and not in the majority, good luck either way.

Thanks for the feedback! The "deadline" for this trade has been delayed so I still have a bit of time to think about this.

Anyone else have any thoughts on it?
