Here is how Rollins and Young peformed in my league:

Rollins stats :620 77 150 37 6 3 52 44 78 32 .242 .296 .335 .632

Young's stats: 624 84 180 22 0 10 95 55 124 1 .288 .346 .372 .718

Here is Howard: 496 77 112 17 1 39 95 57 170 0 .226 .308 .500 .808

The performance of players varies so much depending on your park and opponents that it is hard to gauge results. Whether someone is overpriced or not is irrelevant. It is the results that matter. Youkilis started slow for the first 25 games but then caught fire.

Considering the parks they're playing in, I'd say it's a wash, except that Rollins is a GG SS.
