First timer looking for some opinions

I'm certainly not worried about it and I am thrilled with my teams performance and record so far. It would just be nice if Ramirez had performed that way for me and I was curious to see if team changes frequently reversed a players performance or if this was just bad timing on my part.

Yes, Sizemore has definitely been a huge reason for my teams success to date. The fact that he's going to go 50-50 with probably close to 130 RBI is probably double the production I could have even hope for out of him. And yes Perkins especially but also Looper have been extremely pleasant surprises. Between the 2 of them, I've gotten a 17-2 record for just over 2 million in cap room.

I understand how the injuries work so I wasn't shocked that either A-Rod or Lee went down. I was just wondering if the increased rate of injury had to do with the point in the season or if it was a coincedence. Either way though, it's quite frustrating when these guys go down for 3 or 4 series, then come back and play a game or 2 only to go down again. You're correct about Werth though. He's also missed some games but nowhere near as many as Lee. I picked them up at the same time and Werth has 150 more AB's than Lee.

I do have aquestion about something you mentioned at the end. Does having the best record in the league mean anything aside from the home field advantage? I lead my divison by 19 with 32 to play so I could probably bench everyone and still take it with ease. I was just planning on resting my injury prone guys for the last 12-15 games just to make sure none of them come down with a major injury for the playoffs. I hadn't planned on making sure I clinched best overall record b/c I didn't think it was worth losing those guys for the playoffs if it meant playing them right to the end.

Yes, once you have mathematically clinched the best record, which I think is very important, you should rest anyone who does not have 600 PAs. This will just about guarantee a healthy lineup for game 1 of the playoffs.

Not to burst your bubble but having a dominant record and home field advantage often is irrelevant in this game. I have had the best record in three leagues, won one and got swept out of the playoffs 3-0 in the first round in the other two. Your success is a great accomplishment but don't expect it to carry over into the playoffs.

It certainly doesn't hurt to have the overall best record and homefield advantage throughout the playoffs. However, as the last poster mentioned, the Playoffs is a new season.
It comes down to who you match up with in the playoffs. I've also often had dominant teams lose in the first round. Usually, it's to a team I had problems beating in the regular season. Murphy's Law says that you can dominate 10 of your league mates, but the one team that has your number is your first round foe!

Best of luck. Do rest your players and if possible, check your rotation to make sure you got your top hurlers in the order you want when the playoffs start. Your guys do get a couple days of rest after the regular season which is nice.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that the guy who pitches Game 162 cannot pitch game 1 of the playoffs, so just make sure you don't have Billingsley (or whoever you would want to pitch games 1 and 5 of the playoffs) slotted to pitch game 162.
