RECESSION BUSTER THEME - FULL, New Chat link

Moved thread to Individual League Chat - [b:01901bf730]STILL NEED A FEW E-MAIL ADDRESSES[/b:01901bf730]

http://forums.sportingnews.com/viewtopic.php?t=557792

I just found out that the 2005 and earlier versions have 1/2 price team prices and $50 five packs. 1/2 price teams are a much better option for me financially and domestically (maybe a few of you also have a CFO at home that doesn't understand why SOM is so important to our well being). Other managers have reminded me that the old card sets are still as much fun, just not current. So I'd like to suggest a theme league.

[b:01901bf730]League Format:[/b:01901bf730]

- 5 leagues running concurrently (actually 1 starting each week for 5 weeks so we can devote time to each team).
- Buy your 5 packs up front so we don't have to go searching for replacement managers.
- League champion will be based on # of wins plus bonus points for playoffs and championships.

League 1 - [b:01901bf730]Standard[/b:01901bf730], auto draft, $80mil cap

League 2 - [b:01901bf730]Two Franchise[/b:01901bf730], serpentine draft, $100mil cap

League 3 - [b:01901bf730]Small Market[/b:01901bf730], auto draft, $60mil cap

League 4 - [b:01901bf730]Studs and Duds[/b:01901bf730], auto draft, $80mil cap, each team must have 18 players below $2mil

League 5 - [b:01901bf730]ANTI Two Franchise[/b:01901bf730], same as League 2 EXCEPT, you make your first pick and then the other 11 managers vote to assign you the worst possible 2nd franchise for your pairing, same draft order used in 2nd round.

[i:01901bf730]Leagues 3 and 4 are kind of similar, so any suggestions to change up league 4 to make it more unique?[/i:01901bf730]

the 02 and 03 sets were my fav's and the only reason I would sink $$ here again. If it get's voted to a higher set, you can go ahead and delete my name, no offense I just love those 2 old sets.

i think for the last league you do a draft 1 - 12
when team 1 picks there team team 2 picks there team plus team one pair team and so forth and when team 12 picks there team team 1 picks his pair team.. Then do a one player draft from the remaining teams with team 12 picking first down to team 1. plus you must use a park from one of the 2 teams.

I like straight two team drafts with no extra players from unused teams for the two 2 team leagues.

Bombers I agree that 2 team league straight up is better. but if do a manager vote for the second team. Then teams 8- 12 have little to no chance to win. being they get the 12 best team and still one of the worst remaining teams instead of the 12 best team and the best remaining team that fits needs.

Rob will get it figured out. There are two reasons I never question him:

1. He's a freakin' genius.
2. He has family members who break bones for a living. You must have heard of Davey "Thumbs" Latorre and Larry "Snapper" Latorre.
