Question about using relief/starters in different roles

Question about using relief/starters in different roles

Postby teamnasty » Sat Jun 27, 2009 12:33 am

How many rest days does a pitcher need after a relief appearance before he can start a game. 0, 1, 2? Do the rest days increase if he pitched 3 innings in relief rather than 1, etc? And finally if I start a non-asterik relief/starter must he rest four games before either starting or relieving?

Thanks in advance.

I found the following at http://rsbl.org/somrules.htm

How many rest days does a pitcher need after a relief appearance before he can start a game. 0, 1, 2?

[quote:fc087ca0d2]27.52 A pitcher used in relief in his last outing should have at least [b:fc087ca0d2]one day[/b:fc087ca0d2] of rest before starting. If he does not have this day of rest, consider him fatigued for his entire start.[/quote:fc087ca0d2]

Do the rest days increase if he pitched 3 innings in relief rather than 1, etc?

No

And finally if I start a non-asterik relief/starter must he rest four games before either starting or relieving?

[quote:fc087ca0d2]27.61 A pitcher used as a starter in his last outing must rest the number of days indicated in the Super Advanced Starting Pitcher Rest Chart before his next appearance, whether it is as a starter or reliever. If a relief pitcher is used without this proper rest, consider him fatigued for the entire relief outing.[/quote:fc087ca0d2]

Maybe someone has the Super Advanced Starting Pitcher Rest Chart and can help out with this one.
