Two Questions

Postby Barbie Girl » Wed Jul 15, 2009 3:26 pm

First:

Is Carl Yastrzemski worth the money, or are there better...cheaper...options?

Second:

Did I spell "Yastrzemski" correctly?

I would ask 2 questions back.

What park are you in? And why are you even trying to spell his name?

I am not a fan. he never seems to perform for me...

I think your spelling is correct. I have had him a few times. He stinks.....and he always seems to be in the pool in leagues I'm in.

First question. Sometimes. I've never put him on my draft list but have used him a couple of times and seen him do well on other teams. He has two years worth the money and the others not so much.

Cheaper LF alternatives? I like Ogilivie, Wynn and Burroughs all of whom can be had late on a draft card or often through waivers. I also love Stargell and Foster but you have to draft them 1st pick to get them. Also Frank Robinson can be good and I love Garr.

Spelling? Mmmm it looks good to me!

gg and Sen:

I have never used him.

Busch is our stadium. I wanted to spell his name right so no one would really think I was talking about Yanni.

Echo:

I wanted Burroughs, but he wasn't available. He has been good for me in the past.

Thanks to each of you for your advice!

I won one of my rings with Yas, however I'm not much of a fan. I'm currently in the third season of a league where Yas is an undroppable player so I have to play him no matter what card...I don't like his run producing ability to date...

First he doesn't hit LHP very well, second his D is overrated at his position, third he does walk a lot so he seems more fit because of his running/SB #s to be a better fit at the top of the order, 4th outside of his big boy card everything else is pretty average.

Barbie, I know I'm in your league so I'm prob cutting my own throat, but I would much rather use Jose Cruz if you don't get Yas' big card.
