updavid, a true strat god for sticking with this with all you've got going on. tell em not to sweat it...these quicksilver leagues have been like an appendicitis for my slovenly sots for years now, and this latest attack will be over by friday night. until I start working on the next one. hopefully theirs is less torturous and ends by tommorow too.

Thanks fellas! My son's surgery went well although they'll be keeping him until Saturday since his surgery was so late last night. Methinks I'll be sleeping in that day! What a week! :roll:

Below is a post from Darrell at about 8 AM this morning in the League mailroom. If you've been there already before checking here, you'll see that Deepdrive and Moriarity have both urged/suggested that we postpone our Draft due to David's multiple appendectomies (of family members) ... BOTH OF WHICH were posted BEFORE this note from Darrell.

I agree with these sentiments and would vote to postpone ... but will not act unilaterally to abort the draft at this time, as Darrell is willing to hand off information ... and I have some proxies from David in the event his 'recovery room laptop' gets wi-fi-becitus.

For now, I will send Darrell my cell and David's cell numbers.

Let's convene in HERE the Chatroom ... a little early between 7:00 and 7:30 ET for those who can ... and use this facility to decide at that time on a Go or No Go.

Well, let me add to the potential problems for tonight. We've got a winter
storm warning for our area. Snow and sleet expected to start about 3:00
PM EST. 100% chance. They're calling for 12+ inches, and also possible
power outages. I live in the boonies, so a power outage is very possible
for us. Since I have dial-up, I'll be done.

You can handle this one of two ways.

1- Let Bill make my picks and load my team. He'll need to call me and
get my passwords, stadium preference, and I trust his judgment the rest
of the way.

2- Find a "conditional" replacement today, and if I don't show at 7:30,
replace me.

You can reach me via cell phone at 276-340-xxxx [redacted in this forum]. If power goes out before 7:30 EST, I'll call and let you know, if you'll send me a message today and give me a phone number I can call.

im for whatever the consensus is, although I think we should wait until draft time to officially abandon ship. the next two fridays, christmas and new years day are VERY iffy themselves. backups are in place, and if we don't hear from minnie/darrell we'll know he's buried in snow, and call it off then. i'd vote for trying, if it stalls or aborts, no sweat.

I think David has a pretty full plate right now. And the same storm hitting Darrell, is heading for us next. We're to get 8" to 12" or more of snow starting after midnight.

And I get to work tomorrow 6AM till noon. That doesn't bother me. I'm gonna take a nap before the draft. I'll be glad to help Darrell.

I think for David's sake though, we should postpone. He has enough going on.
