I always like to look at MVP voting as a guide to where a player was thought of. If you look at 75-79 just in the AL, Singleton had a 2nd, 3rd, 10th, 34th, and no appearance over those 5 years. To compare, Rice was 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and no appearance...not huge but still pretty differing and where each was thought of. In fact, Brett was better represented as he was 2nd, 3rd, 11th, 13th, and 19th in those years. For me stats alone don't tell the full tale.
The 2 most under-represented players in 70's SOM as far as card choices goes are A Otis and G Luzinski. Both of those players were much better, especially during the decade of the 70's, than what cards they have as choices.
