I am almost positive that BP hits are not included in the talley. I counted up a few cards last year and found it ti be the case. The reason that they may have BP hits over both hits and outs is for those who don't play with ballpark effects. Guys in HR parks tend to have more of them over HRs, while those in pitchers parks tend to have them over outs.
The BP HRs are listed, and all players have 5 singles unless noted by a star in the BPHR column. Then they have zero.

Make sure you e-mail them, if you ordered both the download and the book. Aparently there is some problem pushing through the e-mail for the download because the book hasn't shipped yet. If you e-mail them than can force the code through to allow the download.
