Sorry.....had to make some stops for work on my way to the office this morning and just got in. I will take a look at this in an hour during my lunch hour and pick then. Probably would swap spots with someone lower at this point if anyone is interested. Back in an hour.

Made my pick....went with position rather than take the first baseman though those were tempting........thought about pitching as wellbut that is deeper this year also.........

As I said in the draft, Votto just killed the ball, and I know 1B is usually really deep, but Cano and Tulo were really the two middle infielders that stood out. The first round or two is usually uneventful. It's rounds 3-12 that really get tricky.

My pick was probably a mistake. I like doing pre-card drafts but suck at them......which is the consistent theme of my strat teams.

I agree that Votto will be beastly, but Tulo should be pretty good, too, and a 1. I hope the injury bug and the Coors field effect don't come back to bite me, though...

If he were available, I would probably have taken Tulowitzki over Votto because of the defense. I'm guessing Tulo will be a 1e14 or so.

I always prefer position picks to pure stats, but once Cano was gone I went the other way. I thought about HRam but he just wasn't worth the position scarcity pick at pick 4 IMHO. I think there are more SS that are livable than there are 2nd basemen. In spite of the gaudy #'s of the other 4 in the top 5, Cano is far and above better than any other 2nd baseman and I thought he was the #1 pick. I was lucky to get him at pick #3 in my first pre-card draft.

Just wished Dan had the first 3 picks since he didn't mention Cano amongst his 3 options at pick 1.

I'm not sure about HRam's defense. He may slip back to a 3. If Cano gets a Gold Glove, he likely get a 1, and that will seriously boost his card as 1e3 at 2B with 680+ PAs.
