mbrake is right that we will surely not finish the whole draft today, and kramer is correct that we should not rush through it for that purpose.

Eddie is correct too, on the need for timely response here.

That said, Andy does bring up a point. Since the team being picked for zim by me might be worse than the one picked for benchwarmer by smitty, it does conceivably impact zim more than benchwarmer, OR smitty. . .

[i:836cbea320]One option could be to have a consensus vote right here on which team WE as a voting group would stick benchwarmer with (sorry pal ;) ), note that team, and simply bypass Smitty if he does not post by 2:00, we tally our consensus vote and grant benchwarmer the consensus pick, and move on.[/i:836cbea320]

We would then stick closely to the 4-hour recommended (during live hours only counted between 9 a.m. and midnight) deadline time.

Everyone, I think, can develop a prioritized cherry-pick list and proxy it to someone for posting. A bunch of us have expressed willingness to do this, which is a generous thing to do.

Let me first say that I am ok with whatever we decide. I am not in any rush or even care if Smitty takes 2 days to make his pick. Really.

My issue is that every theme league that I get into, it seems that the rules are posted involving time between picks and someone (sometimes plural) doesnt pick in time and doesnt send a proxy. I'm not talking about being an hour late. It's always very, very late. Since we post rules on how to handle a missed pick, we all joined the league knowing the rules, why are we now making an exception? Smitty knows that if he doesnt send in a proxy and doesnt make a pick then he will be passed over. I realize that he is picking a team for someone else but there are only three teams after his pick that could go at the most and I suspect that there wont be too much of a difference.

If we want to make Smitty's pick for him then I suggest one person do it, maybe Artie as commissioner, instead of trying to get everyone together to make a decision.

Just my 2 cents but once again I am ok without whatever we come up with.

I hear you Eddie. Technically, since the last pick was made at 11:30 last night, and the "live hours" are 9 a.m. - Midnight, Smitty technically has until 1:00, so it's not really an "exception." One hour grace in this case is all that is being given, because of the nature of this particular round.
