Jeep,
Yeah, that -24 series dropped 3-4 wins off of the old pythag.
I'm just really frustrated with a pitching staff that just shouldn't be *this* bad I don't think. Bottom middle? OK. Dead last, by almost 60 runs? Seems worse than expected especially when you look at a couple of the other staffs in the league. We spent only 1.5 under the league average on pitching (not that that's the only measure) and there are three teams that spend 3 mil or more less than us.
In addition, we're hitting .253 and opponents are at .280 so it's not just the park.
If some of these numbers even out a bit, we may make a run, but maybe these guys just aren't very good despite what their cards indicate to me. <shrug>
Silver,
Yeah maybe a LHRP instead of Zumaya would have been better. Zum is a little backwards however. I realize these guys are getting creamed by LHB's I guess I''m sort of thinking that at least Halladay and Hensely shouldn't be getting hit *this* bad. Myers even less so. <shrug>
Yeah, you're right about Lopez, that's because we've played so many games where the "mop up" comes in.
So, you think with only a 3 number difference on HRs and no difference on singles you need to be *that* much better v LHB's?
All,
I have some BP specific ratings that I'll post, probably tomorrow, that does explain at least a little bit why our W/L isn't as good as our rating, but it still doesn't explain the pitching.
Thanks for the feedback, gives me something to think about.
