If we are going to time slots my suggestion would be to post the actual time period for each manager. And each get's the full time allowed before the next person can pick. Generally that isn't a problem here, where people take longer to pick, but I can see it happening.

Knowing what time you pick means you can show up at that time and know that it's you (and only you) on the clock. You don't have to worry about getting skipped - just people whose time has already expired can pick anyone out from under you.

Time slots have to be fixed, regardless how long the people coming before take to pick. You can't slide up the time slots if people pick early - your slot has to be your slot. If your slot is 10:00 - 10:30 that's what it should always be - not moved up because people pick early in their time.

Time slots that aren't fixed are generally worthless. Having to check in to see if people have picked early just to see if your slot moved up defeats the whole purpose of having them.
