Barnstormers 2011 - let's get some discussion going

Regarding the player who is forced to enter the TSN live draft application.

OK, real life calls and he misses the draft. Although you can and should setup your picks ahead of time - the newbie forgets to do that too. So now he gets left to the mercy of the TSN live draft app to give him the best players available at that time when it is his turn.

Well obviously, he's upset and doesn't want to spend $24.95 for what he considers a lose-lose situation.

I just dont like the "we all have to be there at the exact same time" angle of the TSN live draft. At least with the other versions of live draft, the proxy angles give you a fighting chance to play the draft the way you want using the park you had planned for.

how about 4 theme leagues:
AL post
AL pre
NL post
NL pre

that way its a totally different team each time around. the worst thing about the barnstormers tourney is i can draft an amazing team every single time even if i prerank all 0.5s and essentially draft my entire team post waivers. with the correct subset and correct salary cap, barnstormers could be made as challenging as the 200X leagues. for any 200X league im nervous to see my team once the autodraft runs, for barnstormers its zero excitement because of way too many players.

another suggestion is move to a higher salary cap (definitely higher than 100M) as standard.

4 themes is too many, we need to concentrate on the main Barnstormers staples, the 100 and 80 Mil. We will probably use a PRE/POST [b:fc91ebbf7c]CHOICE[/b:fc91ebbf7c] - which seemed to be preferred by the board over the AL/NL theme.

One option currently on the table is a choice for 60/140 event. You choose one or the other.

A great suggestion by Petrosian is to work with Bernie on a special pricing for Barnstormers signups. Perhaps a special discount code for everyone that signs up. I'm working on that now.

I did shift to 100 Mil as the STANDARD cap now. It USED to be 80. I think that people playing the game now are more likely to choose 100. Certainly NOT 140.

Yes.

You can see how it's been rolling over in ILC. Random Parks. Assign park, then draft order, then go draft. Load in whatever order.

I think this might be a nice twist for the semi-final round.

I vote for a $60 mil round. Tests the "bargain hunters" among us.

I'm also a fan of randomization for division loading. Less chance of managers jerking around with dropping out and re-entering into a more "friendly" division that doesn't have Moby Dick in it.

I really like the $60 million teams as well, but I'll go with whatever the commissioners decide..... I am looking forward to this year's Barnstormers!

I should be coming out today with event 1 info. Waiting on Bernie. Event 1 is expected to start loading right away (tomorrow?)
