Random starting pitcher?

Random starting pitcher?

Postby tcochran » Wed Jul 13, 2011 7:59 am

Kenny Rogers had originally been in my starting rotation on a 2006 team, but he made his last start in game 31. I replaced him in the 4-man rotation after that, keeping him on the roster as the #5 starter.

Last night, exactly 100 games later, HAL decided to let Rogers start again. There were no injuries. no change in the rotation listings, nothing. Rogers gave up 4 runs in 5 innings and we lost 7-6.

What would cause HAL to throw a game like that?

Hal is punishing you for being too clever. You could avoid that by manually setting all your games started.

Did you play a long extra innings game sometime before Rogers' start? Maybe one of your starters got put into a game in relief?

Nope, I looked at the 10 games prior to that one. No extra innings games and no starters used as relievers.

Maybe his concert tour was over and he made it back to the team and Hal put him in there after Kenny beat him in a card game. You guys just don't think of the obvious do you.
