I'm glad you guys like it!
[quote:f7a9fa390f="Mr. Baseball World"]I actually enjoyed my first one. It was a 2010 playoff game and avoided seeing the results before "watching". Was ready to beat HAL senseless when he pulled my SP Francisco Liriano in the fifth inning.[/quote:f7a9fa390f]
Yeah, I'm conscious that one of the side-effects of the Game Replay will be an even greater scrutiny on the managerial decisions that the game engine makes. Of course I always contend that the computer manager's logic is "actually pretty good", and that while eliminating the remaining logic weaknesses is an evergreen goal of mine, it's "way harder than anyone gives me credit for", but I know as a fan it's only natural to focus on problems. I mean this is baseball, isn't it? So I do anticipate a bit of an uptick in the complaints when more of you get into the habit of watching your games this way but hey, no guts, no glory.
[quote:f7a9fa390f="rburgh"]Very nice! But I found a bug. Game 109 for the Motown Miracles in "#7 14 League Franchise..." In the bottom of the 8th, Tom Henke came in because the previous reliever (Wilhelm) was on "quick hook" and the replay gadget didn't recognize the (quick hook) in the line and failed to register the pitching change.[/quote:f7a9fa390f]
Fixed. Thanks!
[quote:f7a9fa390f="Voovits"]There is an alternate way to view the game replay without knowing the results ahead of time.
Each game has a unique URL, just like the boxscores.[/quote:f7a9fa390f]
I had no doubt you'd figure something like this out, V. :) Hopefully you won't have to do this for more than a week or two.
[quote:f7a9fa390f="derfs"]Do you want us to report bugs in this feature? In case the answer is yes I supplied the link to a game that has an "unparsed line 68" that basically wiped out a batter's results.[/quote:f7a9fa390f]
Fixed. Thanks!
[quote:f7a9fa390f="Artie412"]IF at all possible, please make this option as flexible as possible. If I change my mind and just need the facts that day, hopefully we will have a "Toggle to the Line Scores" option.[/quote:f7a9fa390f]
Yup, it'll be pretty intuitive for you.
[quote:f7a9fa390f="Ninersphan"]You won't be happy until I'm in divorce court will you Bernie.[/quote:f7a9fa390f]
That is correct.
[quote:f7a9fa390f="Neil Toomey"]Great job on this feature, thank you. I have a couple questions...
Is there any way to add the pitcher's fatigue status during play?[/quote:f7a9fa390f]
Eventually, yup.
[quote:f7a9fa390f="Neil Toomey"]Is it possible to get an actual depiction of the ballpark the game is being played in instead of a generic ballpark?[/quote:f7a9fa390f]
Unfortunately no, because the photos we have for all the ballparks were taken from many different perspectives so they wouldn't match up with the replay display.
[quote:f7a9fa390f="Neil Toomey"]Is it possible to show the on deck and "in the hole" hitters?[/quote:f7a9fa390f]
Eventually, but this will be more work than you might think, since I'd have to parse and maintain the lineups, which I didn't have to do for this iteration.
[quote:f7a9fa390f="Neil Toomey"]Is it possible to show the percentage of rolls that fell on the hitter's/pitcher's card? (for the individual game as a whole and individual players)[/quote:f7a9fa390f]
Eventually, I guess. This actually falls under the the category of "stats we'd like to see in general", so you might see it elsewhere as well. Eventually.
[quote:f7a9fa390f="Mr. Baseball World"]Very nice. Course it helps that I won all three games I "watched" last night including the ninth inning rally in the playoffs mentioned before.[/quote:f7a9fa390f]
As a test, I've tweaked it so you'll lose your next three games. Please let me know how this affects your experience.
