[quote:db148d16f7="Page2"]Hi,

I am not sure that I am set up on diamond draft. Just now seeing that the league is filled. And not wanting to hold things up. Plus I just have my phone to get on the net with let me know if that is going to be a problem and someone else is needed.

In situations where there is "no clock" how long will we give someone before action is taken (e.g.- finding a replacement)? I know that's kind of an oxy-moron with the emphasis on moron, but I do wonder in a practical sense.

Normally I'm one of the first ones telling people to hurry up and draft, but since many in the northeast still don't have power I would say we should probably wait at least one more day before looking for replacements. Would be up to Turtle to decide exactly when, but it's probably still too early to boot anyone.

I hear ya. I think I would wait at least one week before dropping someone. I was just curious. It's supposed to be clock off but there's got to be a limit even to that.

This being the first round and all I wanted to say something. I acknowledge the "clock off" status we are currently picking under but I was wondering if there might be a way to simultaneously take one's time and have others assured that a pick is eventually coming.

Perhaps something like this...

"Hey guys, It's my pick now. I'm going to take a day to mull it over. If I need longer than that I'll say something here."

Seems like that way we can take our time AND assure others we haven't abandoned the league or forgot about it.

If I feel the need to take at least a day, at my pick (#12), I will keep you updated. Otherwise, it seems the "clock off" status can mess with your minds. That has no limit and no indication of ever making a pick.

Good point, it is nice when people communicate how long they are going to take. Having said that, usually in the 1st round people take a long time to pick because they forgot about the league or they can't get online for some reason. First rounds are usually slow, so try not to get too anxious/irritated about how long it takes (I won't follow my own advice and will get anx. and irritable). Once time limits kick in and everyone knows the draft is up it goes much smoother. Proxy's zip the draft along.

Anyone is free to "page" someone on the chat thread if they are on the clock for a long time-around 4-5 hrs?.

I would just like to know people's intentions if they take longer than a day to make their picks. I have no issues at all if someone wishes to take more than a day or even a week to make their pick. But not knowing if a pick is coming at all from someone is a bit maddening to me. Maybe that's just me. :D

Yeah, derfs, I think maybe you are taking it the wrong way. Some of you guys have been signed up for this draft for almost 2 months; other things may be uppermost on your minds. And then there is the flooding and other stuff affecting about 1/3 of the US population and a chunk of Canada's.

The boards are waaaaaayy slower than normal right now, presumably because of the weather.

As one of the last signups, perhaps it is easier for me to preach patience, but I just have a bunch of proxies in and will wait to see what happens.
