[quote:211c8e3f30="rburgh"]Also remember to use proxies, because it WILL allow the next player in line to draft when your clock expires.
Proxies are easy. If by some chance you get a guy via proxy that you don't want - just request to drop him - anybody can approve it. You won't be able to replace him until your next pick (I think) but that's some consolation anyway.[/quote:211c8e3f30]
I haven't read this entire draft thread yet, but after reading this post I thought I should chime in...[b:211c8e3f30] I don't think we should allow people to drop proxy-selected players that they don't want. [/b:211c8e3f30]Selected players are deleted from other people's proxy lists, so if you select a player by proxy, several other picks could fire off immediatelyby proxy, and then you realize you don't want the player you got, you may have taken a player that others had proxied up. There is no good way to be fair and allow this type of player drop. it could really screw people over...even if no one else has selected yet because, as I said, the mistake selection took a player off any other person's proxy lists that the player was on. A dropped player does not go back into its original location on other proxy lists.
I prefer if we set the rule that [b:211c8e3f30]no selected player can be dropped. [/b:211c8e3f30]If you get a player you don't want, you will have to get rid of him via trade after the draft. [b:211c8e3f30]PROXY CAREFULLY. To avoid an accidentally unwanted proxy-selection, turn OFF your proxies while selectiong and arranging proxy options.[/b:211c8e3f30]
Discussion? Last draft I got screwed out of a player because of this scenario. It sucks. It would suck even more in a league like this. Proxies are great to speed up a draft but without a rule like I proposed, I would probably rarely use proxies.
