Qk

So essentially a manager could protect more players by giving up late round draft picks?

I'm in favor of that, but it will cut down on the quality of the draft pool.

Rant yes, you're correct in saying that we would be able to "protect" more players by not forcing owners to choose between promoting a prospect or protecting one of their existing 30-man players pre-draft.

And yes, while the draft pool quality would decrease at the low end, it would be mostly unchanged at the upper end. So teams relying on high draft picks to get new high-value cards would not be affected much, it would affect bubble guys on existing 3-man rosters.

To give a "for instance", Andres Torres will be on my bubble list next year. His actual card is useful only as a D-sub and might be worth $1M or so, but he's useless as a hitter. He would easily last until Rnd 7 or so of our current draft, and I'd be betting on a comeback year for him in 2012 by keeping him on roster. That's the type of player this change would allow us to keep on roster vs. returning to the draft pool.

That help?

[quote:41bccea783="The Turtle"]you are now 2 players over the limit Kaviksdad, you have to announce drops to go along with this trade before it is valid.[/quote:41bccea783]

After the Lowrie deal, to get to the roster limit I'm dropping:

Nate McLouth

Will last night's games be made up today? Or do we have to sit out a week?

With my acquistion of CC I've got a couple starting pitchers available now:

Vincente Padilla - a mid-range reverse R/H starter best suited for a
pitchers park team
James Guthrie or possibly Chris Carpenter - both higher quality * SP's

With my injury problems I'm looking for depth, or looking to package an
injury prone player (Nelson Cruz?) with a starter for a less injury prone
replacement. I also need a good utility infielder, both with the glove and
bat.
