1969 RAISE THE MOUND! No hitters >2M -drafting

Our historical single season sets

Alyea had a monster start for the Twins in 1970, including a 7 RBI game on opening day!

His OPS was 3.500 after that day! And he would have had 8 RBI's if a throwing error didn't score a run before his turn in the first inning.

Wish I could have the 1970 Alyea card!

I wish TSN would add the 1970 card set - it is great!

[quote:7c1c2d0412="jamesgang77"]I recalled having my last picked Bob Meyer on one of my past '69 teams..i didnt check his numbers until after i picked him..he went 6-18, but that was against the big boys...ive had Alyea a couple of times, he is probably the best bargain in the whole '69 set. Once hit 36 homers and another time 20 for me, against the best pitching.[/quote:7c1c2d0412]

I've had Alyea hit 41 homers for me .. twice

Yes i like my teams chances of playing 162 games [/quote:60aa20457f]

You mean this isn't one of those 25 game try-it-out leagues?

I'm doing a lot of crying with this team. My most expensive position player is Ellie Rodriguez at $.99M -- big

Surprising that Mazeroski lasted until the 13th round. His defense alone seemed like a top 5 or 6 round pick. Interesting draft so far.

My starting infielders at defense are 1b-2 e12, 2b-4 e13, SS-3 e28, 3B-4 e24.

It looks like a rough infield, but not sure if there too many dazzling infields in this league.

Just Wondering

Postby BrotherA4him » Thu Sep 29, 2011 3:24 pm

It appears to me that several of us will have rosters short of $60K when we get through drafting. Won't that cause a problem loading our teams.
I know that we could each add a BIG MONEY hitter on our rosters just to get into the league and then cut them I suppose. But in my case and probably Ugrant, that won't be enough.
And once you get in the league, can you did below $60K then?
Just curious.
Thanks,

That's interesting.
Thanks for clearing that up for me.
Since we are only drafting 24 players, do we just grab who we want for the 25th one?

Can someone approve my drop of Gary Nolan?

I was in the process of arranging my proxies and I guess he fired off at 00. Anyway, I didn't intend to draft him anywhere near this early.

[quote:70286b3672="gfdwarf07"]Yes, draft 25 players and a unique stadium - can be taken any time during draft. 26 rounds in all...[/quote:70286b3672]

This may have been answered somewhere in this thread but the draft is set up for 25 rounds. Do we draft 24 players and a stadium or just 25 players?
