DT,
Interesting. Thanks for your thoughts. Not surprising your disdain for pitching given the teams you've put together in the NLD! ;) I usually try to stay right around 30 mil on pitching.
Both you and Silver don't like Wilson in my park. I like that he's a 2/6 and is pretty good both ways and is priced decently. He's pitching like garbage so maybe you're right. (8/15 save chances and a 6.33 ERA) I don't think anyone would expect him to be THIS bad in AT&T however. I probably over value his 2/6.
I find your comments on my offense interesting. Earlier you were saying it's a hitter's park team. Do you think the offense will be poor because of the park or the players (or both?) and, have you looked at some of the offenses in this league and the pitcher's parks they are playing in? I think the ratings will have me higher than the bottom 1/3, but that doesn't mean they're right! Then again, I didn't draft Werth but took him in waivers when I knew I had to do something. Took Hunter because the other CFers were gone and took Uggla cuz I needed something v LHP with all the LHSPs in our division. So, maybe I agree with you. ;)
I think that we match up pretty good in a park that favors RHB's. Werth and Hunter are backwards and Uggla crushes LHP. I hate the bottom of our lineup v RHP however. They aren't all that strong. Not nearly enough OB or power there. That was a function of dealing Tulo. Might try to upgrade over Fontenot, but not sure I can make enough of a difference to have an impact. And He's played well so far. (crossing fingers)
Tonight we got totally lucky against you at least in game 3. We're without Werth (3 games), Hunter (1) and Zaun (2) and we manage to win AND score 9 runs! Our bottom 4 were:
Kelly
Fontenot
Paulino
MIlledge
Against Mejia as the starter. In a way we were lucky that Kuo came in, but it took a Pujols HR and somehow Alvarez tripling off of Kuo before we cashed in on an Uggla 3 run HR. Six runs in the last 2 innings! That's some hot rolling in the last two and adequate bullpen work including two shutout IP from Wilson (amazingly enough!)
I appreciate your comments. I'll have to analyze this team a bit more and see what else I could have done.
Jet
We love your park, that's for sure. It has treated us well. Maybe you're right about this being a hitter's park team.
