Analysis to follow. Note, our rating was a little lower prior to the moves and WAY lower without Tulo (40% of our games). Don't know what Stoney or Big A's ratings were before the deals or Silver's before his moves.

One thing I will note is that there seem to be a lot of extreme teams this time around and a wide variety of parks. Pitcher's parks will generally generage lower ratings and hitter higher. When I gen up the ratings in each park, I expect that some teams with lower ratings will fare well.

Well if you didnt have enough incentive to do well in NLD - looks like next seasons East division will comprise of qksilver, jtj, detroit tigers and/or smokee ... some pretty tough competition there.

Halfway through the season and Jeep already has a 10 game lead ... i bet he will do whatever it takes to keep his team from pulling a Red Sox/Braves like free fall.

Easy there AT, all but Jeep are at most 8 games out of the East. Plenty of time to drop/gain 8 games. ;)

Pitching is mostly as expected. Latos, Happ and Dickey are more or less in line with what I thought they could do. Strasburg really is a revelation for me, while Blanton is doing a great job for .50. Bullpen is okay ERA wise, but the number of blown saves is worrying me. McCann, Zimmerman, Kemp are all doing good, also Huff after the trade. Tulowitzki though, it seems, didn't take the trade well. Doumit has to play RF now, can't blame him for that. Stubbs, Zobrist (despite his many steals), Colvin are bothering me big time. Should i drop them??ß We need Stubbs defense, but his BA/OBP is awful. Colvin's not good, but I don't see a better fit at LF on the free agent market.

I expected this team to perform more like what the ratings say. I appear to have underestimated the effect of my lack luster defense on my pitchers. From watching the games my offense love to hit a homer with no one on and the follow it with a double then a walk. This ofcourse is followed promptly by the requisite outs to complete the inning. In short, this bunch has a dogged approach to losing games innovative ways. Back to big ball parks for me.

Sorry guys, I've been slammed and have had no time to analyze or comment. I want to get the park by park ratings out too, but....

So you're 19 games behind Jeep because of good / bad luck? :shock:

Exactly so Big. Did you bother to check the RS/RA?

Jeep's is 459 RS, 452 RA. A difference of +7.

My RS/RA is 398/400, -2. This means we should be about 2-3 games apart.

Jeep's 1-run record is 24-7. Some of that can be due to his good pen, but my pen has been more effective than his, but our record in 1-run games is a league worst 10-17. It's not only dice, but in looking at the league this year, I do think most of the separation we see is dice.
