NLD Twenty-Nine!

Being 51 games under .500 in the last two NLD's blaming it on the dice sounds like a pretty good idea to me. :P

Hey Jeepster, just to be clear, I didn't blame last season on dice. Last season was all on me. This season it's a bit more the dice factor IMHO, and not just for me, but in general I don't see a huge talent gap on the teams.

So it must be nice to be 19 games up on me with a team barely + in RS/RA, enjoy the air up there!

Yes, I did jinx our team, losing 3 of 4 series since our 16-3 run and allowing 6.25 runs per game and over 8 in the 7 losses. :(

I guess 5-7 isn't *that* bad of a stretch, but we can't afford this after our start.

More info on ratings coming up.

I have to kind of side with Silver here. He's clearly had a lot more tough breaks than Jeep has.

Ok, ratings in each park here.

We are obviously not performing to our ratings, but we're pretty even in Yankee and Miller in our division. Our record is definitely worse in our division, but not as good as the ratings would expect out of the division by a long shot. Seems like I end up in the toughest division a lot. <sigh>

Here are the +/- ratings. If you're better in a park than the opponent, you get a +1, if you're worse a -1, about the same 0.

[code:1:bf05c60cb3]
Team Advantage Div
JTJ.... 18 C
stoney. 10 C
Big M.. 10 C
Hawk... 7 W
Smoke.. 4 W
Jeep... 2 E
Silver. 0 E
DT..... -3 W
zim.... -6 E
big A.. -9 E
AT..... -15 W
Keyzick -17 C

Analysis to follow another time. gotta get back to work.

All is cool as we tend to feed on disrespect.

Uh oh, I won a game vs. Silvers tonight 13-1. I wasn't suppose to do that was I? All my games are suppose to be 1-run lucky dice games.

Well we almost no-hit you in gm 3 Jeepster, so I wouldn't get too cocky there. And you lead our series 7-5, not what I'd call total domination. Wouldn't you expect someone 20 games better than me to own a 9-3 or 10-2 advantage? Just be glad you got your run differential up to something respectable...

I'm trying to figure out every team blasts my pitching while we can't touch Richard facing 9 RHBs. :? (And with the addition of Albert, we hit LHP pretty well)

We allowed another 20 runs (to a team missing Utley for 3 and Cargo for 2) in 2 losses. Ouch.

You could say it was the park, but at least for our O, we only rolled one bphr in the two losses (missed 1-8) and one bpsi (got 1-3). Also didn't help that we rolled 8 of 10 on Thornton's card!

Need to get hot again......

Yes Silver, I did look at the run differentials. And they say I'm the best team in the league. In fact, I appear to be a bit UNLUCKY with the dice rolls, as I'm underperforming my pythag by 1 run. :(

That just doesn't sound like the Silver I've known all these years. You are not kidding around or razzing in that above post. I've lost a lot of respect for you. A man's true character comes out when faced with adversity, and you have not handled your adversity well.

You haven't played well the last two NLD's and I think your frustrations are getting the better of you. We all know your playing ability, your winning percentages, etc. If you had just owned up rather than make excuses and throw me under the bus all would be fine.

Have I had some good luck and you some bad luck this season. Of course, it's obvious. Not enough for there to be a 20 game difference in the standings, IMO. Nevertheless luck is a big part, that's why we play the games.

You talk about cocky and total domination stuff. I had not said one thing all season about the success of my team. Big razzed you first. Then with the records of our teams so dramatic when you said all the teams were even it was luck separating us, I had to razz you, too. Not sure why you took it to this level against me.

Jeep, no question I'm frustrated this time around. But one of the things that bugs me a bit is when folks don't look at the facts. BigM made a statement that pissed me off because it ignored some pretty obvious facts, you commented on my reply to that, and it went from there. I have no idea if you were trying to be funny or not.

BigM, take a look at the expected W/L records for the whole league. There's just a 12-gm difference in expected W/L between your club (yes, the best) and Smokey's. That's parity - the expected W/L for EVERY team is within 6 games of .500 either way. I'm not trying to take any credit away from anyone, far from it, just saying that this is one of the closer NLDs we've had in my recollection in terms of talent. I didn't see a huge gap at draft time, and that continues to be the case.
