[quote:cd54ad8609="Rjnewman"]Rick surprised with Yankee stadium...[/quote:cd54ad8609]

I figure that my team is balanced between left handed and right handed hitters. So I could not decide if I wanted a neutral stadium, or a stadium that favored LH or RH. Then I looked at the other teams in my division and they are loaded with right handed hitters, so I went for Yankee Stadium. So I did not pick a stadium to help my team, but a stadium to lessen the punch of my opponents.

In a normal league you don't have the opportunity to see your opposition prior to choosing your ballpark.

With all that strategy I will probably end up losing 95 or so games.

I really wanted to draft Carl Taylor to bat behind Lou Brock, and I figured Lew Krause could get by as a regular starter. However, Krause got drafted and that left Ray Jarvis; and I figured he would have gotten killed. So, I ended up picking Stottlemyre as the safe pick - going with Pete Ward at first and backup 3rd when Held is injured.

Very, very challenging draft format. Ordinarily I would probably cut Brock and Bowens in the preseason. I rarely use Brock, but Kev is in my division, which means Hawk Taylor. Which means when Brock reaches first, the throw is probably going in centerfield.

I feel pretty good about my team, but we'll see.

Take back what you said about Hawk!! His arm is under-rated. Brock will be in awe as he slides into tag after tag at 2B. Hawk's 25 HRs and 100RBIs will make you all think..... "Johnny Bench".
