What is the worst record you have seen make the playoffs?

Hi fellas,

I am in my first two seasons right now both using the 1986 card sets. I am trying to maintain hope that one of my teams can squeak into the playoffs somehow but it's not looking good. In my 2nd league my division is full of new players like myself and we are all off to slow starts and below .500 after 33 games. The way my schedule, constant injuries, and roster looks I think my first team is hanging by a thread but likely gonna fall out of the race for a playoff spot. Although I don't like the roster of my 2nd team I think my division might just be set up in a fashion where 85 wins might take it. Perhaps I am kidding myself.

What is the worst record any of you have seen somebody have and get into the playoffs? Do you think either of my teams can get in? Both teams are in the 20% penalty so the rosters are unchangeable other than batting order and such.

This ATG VI live draft team of mine won the championship with an embarrassing 80-82 regular season record.

I am in that league and your problem is that there are four teams hovering around .530-.540 winning percentage, including yours and mine. This does not even include the three teams leading their divisions. It would seem likely that one of the teams trying for the wild card will end with at least a .530 percentage, giving them 86 wins. So if you end up with a poor record, you won't have a shot unless the team in front of you playing .560 totally collapses. IMO you will need to win at least 86-87 to have a chance and that's with none of your three wild card competitors getting hot down the stretch.

I think his statements regarding getting in with a less than stellar record relate more to his second team which is 16-17 and in first place.

2005 team with 78 wins takes a tour league ring with a four game sweep against 103 win team (also, six teams had a better record than my team, but fortunately none were in my division):

Anything can happen (and it usually does)!

Yeah actually I was referring to my second team. I don't think I have much of a chance in the league where I'm in your division. I think even though you are a little behind you are well positioned to go on a run and all season your Expected W/L has been well ahead of your actual W/L. That has to even out soon and I just don't think I can score enough runs to stay afloat. In my second league though I don't really think any of the rosters in my division are very good and I'm hoping that if I can stay near .500 perhaps I can squeak into the playoffs. I really need to get a free credit somewhere so I can play a third season lol. The wife doesn't want me spending anymore money on this right now and I'm pretty addicted.

I have a feeling you and Marvin's Gladiators will be battling it out right to the end.

I had a 74-88 team win a Championship in a $200 mil keeper league.
