As some people surely know, Pete LaCock was the son of Hollywood Squares host Peter Marshall. According to wikipedia, Marshall was born Ralph Pierre LaCock. Dad changed his name for obvious reasons--imagine Pierre LaCock emceeing Hollywood Squares-- but his son Pete was allowed to carry the family name to glory in baseball.

If there are any western movie fans out there, Peter Marshall's elder sister (and LaCock's aunt) was Joanne Dru, who made a number of western classics including [i:90c56820fb]Red River[/i:90c56820fb], [i:90c56820fb]Wagon Master[/i:90c56820fb] and [i:90c56820fb]She Wore a Yellow Ribbon[/i:90c56820fb] (a personal favorite), as well as [i:90c56820fb]All the King's Men[/i:90c56820fb]. She was born with the name Joan Letitia LaCock. Try carrying [i:90c56820fb]that[/i:90c56820fb] name into the G-rated film industry of the 1940s and '50s!
