With all those LH's, I'd keep Knight. Morrison is just an expensive platoon. Tracy Jones is a stud as well vs. LH's, so he's a keeper.
Any lefty bats that hit LH's available? I always like to have one of those, on the cheap, to face those reverse LH's you will see.
A concern of mine for you are the sub 600PA guys that could go down for periods of time.[/quote:a4cc84a079]
I agree about the sub 600 AB guys. But I hope that I have prepared for that well. I expect some injuries. I have Otis Nixon that can play well defensively and steal some bags for a stretch if Eric Davis or Cory Snyder get hurt for a while. Rickey and Chili Davis are over 600 AB's.
I have Gagne who plays 2B pretty well and isn't the worst at SS if Thompson or Guillen go down.
Knight and Morrison are both capable of playing everyday at 3B if one gets hurt.
Tracy Jones and Ray Knight can both play 1B if Horner gets hurt.
Sundberg is a solid replacement for Carter. Sundberg hit 19 HR and had 70 RBI as a starter for me a couple seasons ago plus he is a solid defender.
If Tracy Jones get hurt at DH I will let Morrison play DH and Knight play3B for the duration of the injury.
I spent a little more than I prefer on my bench just because of the injury potential. All are injury 1's except Carter at least so hopefully too many don't go down at once.
Do you think I need to add another backup?
Edit: I heard what you said. I decided it made more sense to add primary backups with better defense for both Thompson and Guillen by dropping Gagne and adding Biancalana and Templeton. That improves my defense with my backup at both positions, didn't really cost anything extra, and provides a similar amount of offense.
