Abner , I wasn't planning on going down to the fest myself . It gets way to crowded down there . I hope my new roof holds up , got it from the hail storms in the beginning of summer . :) Looking at the news reports , anyone coming out of the coast isn't going anywhere fast at all . Massive traffic jams on all routes fleeing . I don't know about you all but is this storm turning more northly than they thought ? Looks like it headed to New Orleans to me !

Modmark and myself grew up in Houston. Wonder what it will be like next week, considering that I SUPPOSE to go there... talked to a friend of mine a while ago, he lives in Tomball (30+ miles NW of Houston), they're tuffing it out, won't flood where they're at... but he's out cutting all the dead limbs off nearby trees... I hear all the freeways are traffic jams.. what a mess... this time, I'm glad I'm in Nebraska... God Bless anybody, tuffing it out...

I live near Tomball, TX (about 25 miles NW of downtown) and we are toughing it out. The freeways are mostly clear around Houston area, but still bad near Dallas, Austin & San Antonio. I feel sorry for those who went East, toward Beaumont, TX (near the LA border), now they have to go N or NW. Things are calm here, but the storm hasn't hit yet. Next week should be ok, once power and water are restored.

We're ready, and I'm hoping the power doesn't go out (I have a team that is thick in the pennant hunt and the season ends tonight!) We are all ready with water, supplies, flashlights, etc. and know we will be fine. Thanks for the concern.
