Catch and release.....

Catch and release.....

Postby cplake » Mon Sep 19, 2005 11:51 pm

Ray Sedecki was sucking bad so I dropped him and picked up Catfish Hunter. Boy I thought I had hooked the big one....WRONG! In 5 starts this was his line:

W 0 L 3 IP 20.0 HA 31 ER 24 BB 14 SO 8 ERA 10.81 WHIP 2.25
12 Hr allowed. YUK! Three of his starts were at home (Forbes '09).

Has anyone had success with him? This is my first ATGII team and will likely play more. I doubt I'd try him again but want to see how others have faired with him. He's a 20 game winner for under 2 bones. Sounds like a bargain. Then again.....I didn't know I was picking up Jim Hunter circa 2005 (may he rest in peace)........

I've used Catfish once. Here are his stats:

W (10) L (15) S (0) IP (219.2) H (239) ER (13eight) BB (85) SO (99) ERA (5.65) WHIP (1.4eight)

It was an $80 mil cap league. My home park was Riverfront. And, he led the league in HR Allowed (5eight).

I'd be tempted to use him again, but in a pitcher's park and probably in a lower salary cap league ($50 or $60 mil).

P.S. I had to spell out the number eight as it goes emoticon on me when I simply type in the number 8.  (as you can see).

I love catfish too....on my plate. I think I'll keep it out of the clubhouse for now though.

Thanks for the input.....
